Did you know that Chiropractic has been around for 125 years! The first chiropractic adjustment was delivered by Daniel David Palmer (or “DD” as many chiropractors refer to him) in Davenport Iowa. But interestingly the Ancient Greeks and other ancient civilizations adjusted the spine as a form of general healthcare. Hippocrates, the father of modern day medicine, has said “Look well to the spine for the cause of disease”.
We know that the cause of disease is, of course, multi-factorial and not as simple as this, regardless, absolutely everybody can benefit from a healthy spine.
We often forget that the spine is intimately connected to the nervous system, the master control system of the body. A spine that is distorted, restricted and not moving or positioned optimally also appears to influence how the brain responds to general sensory input – or life in general. In computer terms – “Garbage in Garbage out”. The spine, and the information coming into the nervous system from the spine, serves as “eyes” to allow the brain to respond appropriately, or inappropriately as the case may be.
“We see the world, not as it is, but as we are — or, as we are conditioned to see it. ” Steven Covey
Your nervous system is what animates, motivates and inspires you; wouldn’t it make sense that a healthy spine influences the quality of your life?
