Dr. Shannon Patterson graduated as a Doctor of Chiropractic in 1999 from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, Ontario. Dr. Shannon became passionate about chiropractic as a powerful approach to healing after working several years as a Chiropractic Assistant in Victoria, BC. After witnessing the changes in people’s health and well-being through chiropractic care, she knew that this was something she wanted to dedicate her life’s work towards. After graduating she moved to Vancouver, BC. to open her chiropractic practice where she practiced in Kitsilano and Fairview slopes area of Vancouver from 1999 to 2014. In 2015 Dr. Shannon moved her practice to New Westminster, BC. to take over a long established practice (50 years to be exact). She is thrilled to be part of the growing New Westminster community where she and her family now reside. Dr. Shannon Patterson also holds a BA in Economics from the University of Victoria.
With a passion for continued learning in the field of Chiropractic Dr. Shannon has studied various techniques and approaches with a focus on Network Spinal Analysis (also known as NSA), a low force chiropractic style which aims to restore and improve the body’s self regulating capacity and is a somatic-based tool for personal growth and transformation. She has achieved her Part 3 certification in NSA, the highest level certification granted through Dr. Donald Epstein, the founder of NSA. Dr. Shannon also continues to study a Brain First approach to chiropractic and is enjoying integrating this into the services she provides.
Dr. Shannon’s expertise extends outside the office where she has been an invited anatomy teacher (and Registered Yoga Teacher) for yoga teachers in training since 2010. She has served as an elected Director on the regulatory board of chiropractic in BC (for 8 years) and was the past Vice Chair for the Chiropractic College of British Columbia (2012-2-14) and Chair of the Patient Relations Committee. As a wife, mother and chiropractor she is an avid adventure seeker, both inside and out.
When she isn’t at her practice you may find Dr. Shannon spending fun time with her family and friends, on her road bike, at a yoga class or hiking in the forest with her husband, daughter and dog.
